Stars sit third in NAIA Championships

LINCOLN, Neb. – Oklahoma City University carded 310 and grabbed a share of third place in the first round of the NAIA Championships Tuesday at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club. OCU, ranked No. 2 in NAIA women's golf, saw temperatures in the high 50s with wind gusts up to 25 mph on the par-72, 5,978-yard course and finished the first round nine strokes behind leader Embry-Riddle (Fla.).
Ronold headlines OCU's four all-Americans

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sondre Ronold highlighted Oklahoma City University's NAIA men's golf all-Americans after capturing the individual national championship last week in the NAIA Championships at Creekside Golf Club in Salem, Ore. The Stars' Anthony Marchesani, James Marchesani and Michael Palmer joined Ronold on the first team as awarded by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Anthony Marchesani also garnered the Phil Mickelson Award as the NAIA's freshman of the year.
Stars search for sixth NAIA women?s golf title

LINCOLN, Neb. – Oklahoma City University will begin its search for a sixth NAIA women's golf championship Tuesday at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club. OCU, ranked No. 2 in the NAIA, has captured NAIA titles in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

SALEM, Ore. – Oklahoma City University's Sondre Ronold carded a round-four 71 to capture the individual title at the NAIA Championships and lead the second-ranked Stars to their ninth NAIA men's golf title Friday at Creekside Golf Club. OCU was the only team to finish under par finishing with 280-288-289-291–1,148, four under par, on the par-72, 6,887-yard course. The Stars defeated top-ranked Texas Wesleyan by 28 strokes and No. 3 Cal State San Marcos by 33 shots.
Stars maintain double-digit lead in NAIA Championships

SALEM, Ore. – Oklahoma City University turned in a round-three 289 and stretched its lead to 16 strokes Thursday in the NAIA Championships at Creekside Golf Club. The Stars, ranked No. 2 in NAIA men's golf, moved to 280-288-289–857, seven under par, on the par-72, 6,887-yard course and held a 16-shot advantage over top-ranked Texas Wesleyan after three rounds of action.
OCU blasts Bellevue 9-0 for Opening Round title

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University outlasted Bellevue (Neb.) 9-0 to capture the inaugural NAIA Softball Championship Opening Round Oklahoma City Bracket on Wednesday at Ann Lacy Stadium. Bellevue forced the if-necessary game with a 5-4, 13-inning victory over the fourth-ranked Stars. OCU (50-13) advanced to the NAIA Championships on May 24-30 at South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Ga.

SALEM, Ore. – Oklahoma City University carded a round-two 288 and stretched its lead to 14-shots Wednesday in the NAIA Championships at Creekside Golf Club. The Stars, ranked No. 2 in NAIA men's golf, shot 280-288–568 in the first two rounds on the par-72, 6,887-yard course and built a 14-stroke advantage over Grand View (Iowa) and a 19-shot lead over No. 10 Bellevue (Neb.) and third-ranked Cal State San Marcos.

The fourth-ranked Stars (49-12) meet Bellevue at noon Wednesday with a spot in the NAIA Championships at stake. An if-necessary game could follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
OCU routs Hastings 6-1

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University cruised past Hastings (Neb.) 6-1 on Monday at Ann Lacy Stadium in the NAIA Softball Championship Opening Round Oklahoma City Bracket. Jamie Rateliff boosted the fourth-ranked Stars by tossing a one-hitter, carrying a no-hitter until one out in the seventh inning. OCU (48-12) takes on Bellevue (Neb.) at noon Tuesday.
